Grocery Delivery for Cutting Costs

I’m always looking for ways on vacation to save money. One of my favorite cost saving tips is to have a grocery order delivered. We use Instacart year round, so we also use them when we go away. Whether we are headed to Disney or the beach we use this convenient delivery so we do not have to eat out for 3 meals a day!

We generally plan on having breakfast in the room. If we are at Disney, we tend to go with a bunch of quick, “on-the-go” options. Some options for us are Poptarts, muffins, pre-cooked/packaged hard boiled eggs etc. If we are at the beach we will usually get eggs and some breakfast meats since we usually rent a house and have access to a full kitchen.

Another thing we usually put in our order are snacks that we can easily throw in our bag. Think things like: popcorn, pretzels, granola bars, protein bars, etc

For my kids, I like to grab some Uncrustables, single serve Mac and cheese cups, green peppers/radishes/cucumbers (my kids eat pounds of these veggies a week), and fresh fruit. I don’t know about everyone else, but my middle son could live off of fresh berries, apples, and bananas! Pro tip: We pack a set of travel knives, a few Ziploc bags, and a few Tupperware containers so we can cut up everything and store it in the fridge that way, making it easy to grab on the go.

When we are at Disney we will bring a small lunch bag with ice packs, pack some snacks, and usually pack an Uncrustable or some Mac and cheese cups for an easier, cheaper lunch for the kids. We heat the Mac and Cheese up in the parks at the Baby Care Centers.

When we are at the beach we like to also grab some bread and lunch meats so we can make sandwiches to take to the beach or pool with us.

When at Disney you can also check out other grocery delivery services like Garden Grocer or Dizzy Dolphin!

We save so much money this way and usually only have to worry about dinner and the occasional lunch out while we are away! If you are looking to save some money, I recommend this as one of your first cost saving measures!

Your Bibbidi Bobbidi Bestie,

Holly
