I have always done longer - 1 week - trips to Disney with my family. Never had I tried a shorter one….until this year.
This year I took my first “short” trip to Disney. Myself and a couple of team members went down in April for a quick trip to try Tron the weekend it opened. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!!
We visited during Tron’s opening and the return of Happily Ever After. We park hopped and visited EPCOT during the Flower & Garden Festival. We checked out Hollywood Studios and rode Millenium Falcon multiple times (single rider is a game changer! 🤯). Plus we watched Happily Every After and Fantasmic!! Let me tell you - it definitely was a magical trip! So much so that I convinced my husband to do a quick trip just the two of us 😊
Disney is the place we both fell in love with as kids and then the first trip we took together as adults.
When we decided to go, we knew we wanted to make sure our trip was during the Food and Wine Festival (it’s our favorite 🤩). So we picked a long weekend and it worked out to be our anniversary weekend. We celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary and 22 years together in our favorite place. For parks, EPCOT was a no brainer because of the festival and of course MK - who can resist the castle. 🏰
If you get a chance to visit during the festival, make sure to check out the Brew-Wing Lab (their wings and cider were so good!) and Kenya for their Peri-Peri Skewered Shrimp. 🤤
We’ve done Genie+ in the past, but this weekend we decided to just go with the flow. No schedule. No reservations. Just an idea on things we’d like to accomplish, but weren’t pressed to fulfill them. I did, somehow, convinced him to do rope drop to fireworks at MK - something I had yet to do myself 😱
All in all, we had a great time. Yes, our feet hurt; yes we had bumps in our “unplanned” road; yes we were exhausted when we got home, but it was a trip we thoroughly enjoyed. We were even talking about taking more “quick” trips and one of these days I’ll convince him to get an AP - but that’s for another day 😂
