Packing Essentials with a Toddler

Aside from the obvious essentials everyone needs clothes, pajamas, shoes, swimsuits etc, there are so many extra essentials that you always need to bring for your toddler and quite honestly the job of packing for a toddler often seems daunting. Today, I am going to share my list with you in an effort to make your travel preparation a little bit easier.

  • Diapers

    • If you don’t have room in your luggage you can also consider getting them delivered to your room via Instacart

  • Wipes

  • Diaper Cream

  • Baby Powder or Cornstarch

    • You only really need this if you are going somewhere warm. It is a lifesaver to help keep the diaper area dry so they don’t get a horrendous rash from sweating. I will even use this with my older kids!

  • Disposable Diaper Pail

    • Here’s a link to the ones I take with me https://a.co/d/hGnXkFo

    • I only use these for poopy diapers and the pee just get thrown in the trash

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • A few toys to play with during travel (on the plane or in the car)

  • Sippy Cup

  • 1-2 Bottles (if your toddler still gets a bottle at all)

  • If traveling by plane and under 2…COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE

  • Children’s Tylenol and Motrin

  • Children’s Benadryl

  • If heading to Disney or another area prone to rain showers at any given time…Rain cover for your stroller

  • Blanket for the crib/pack n’ play they will be sleeping in

  • Swim Diapers (we use reusable ones and I will bring 2-3 with me if going for a week and just wash them out in the sink between wears or if we do laundry they get done with the laundry)

  • If you are taking your car seat on the plane, but you didn’t purchase a seat for them bring a travel bag for your car seat

  • Any daily medications, vitamins, or supplements they take

  • Last but not least, SNACKS

Until next time,

Your Bibbidi Bobbidi Bestie

Holly
