Palace Resorts Cancun: Part 2

I started with breakfast in the room and headed down to the lobby to meet up with the rest of the ladies. We then went to tour several more resorts.  We headed to Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen.  This resort was stunning!  It has an open-air lobby and the ocean breezes flow through the lobby. It felt amazing!  Most of the rooms at this resort have ocean views! This resort also has a 10-course tasting at Lahna with a tequila pairing.  It has a few of the same restaurants as the other resorts we already toured, like Momo, but has a few unique ones like Lahna and Madremia! If you are looking for an intimate, smaller resort this resort is where you should stay! I cannot wait to come back here and stay at this resort for its charm and unique experiences.  It is also located a short walk from all the shopping, dining and the ferry boats that carry you to Cozumel, which is our next stop.

The sea was very angry that day and we purchased our tickets and headed on the ferry over to Cozumel. This is not for the faint of heart or for those that get motion sickness, like myself.  I had on my prescription patch, but that was no match for the waves and motion of this boat.  After lots of praying, we made it to Cozumel and hopped in a van to our next stop, Cozumel Palace.  The property again was stunning!  This resort doesn’t have a beach, but you can jump into the water and snorkel right there as it is on the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world!  The largest is of course the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.  This is a divers paradise!  If you are looking for a resort that will cater to divers, this is it!  You can learn to dive while there and get certified as well in a pool they have just for this!  I am certified but my boys are not, so I would love to get them certified and do a split stay at these two resorts.  Again, they have restaurants such as Momo, like at the other resorts, but they also have Bugambilias, which is a Mexican restaurant with gorgeous views of the Caribbean. We were hosted for lunch at Gondola which was a buffet and was delicious!  The majority of the rooms here are also ocean view!  We then had to get back on the ferry to head back to Playa del Carmen to catch our ride back to our host resort at Nizuc Moon Palace. We were put on the smaller ferry this time and the seas had calmed a bit, but getting off this boat was a challenge! They tell you to run because they lay a plank bridge down and must pick it up and down with the waves!! You had to run and jump off to get onto land!!  It was CRAZY!!  We all made it on land safely, but this ferry is definitely not for the faint of heart!!

These were the 2 resorts we toured that day! I highly recommend these 2 resorts if you are looking for a smaller, unique resort experience.  I will be coming back with part 3 of Palace Resorts in Mexico in my next blog where we will visit the last 3 resorts in Cancun, which will be Beach Palace, Sun Palace and Le Blanc Spa Resorts.  I will save my very favorite for last, which was Le Blanc Spa Resort. If you are looking for an all inclusive luxury resort experience, Palace Resorts has one for everyone!

Until next time!

You're Bibbidi Bobbidi Bestie,

Jamie
