Visiting Disney is A LOT - not just navigating long days inside the parks but also in terms of money! ($ emojis) That is why I always like to add in non-park days during our family trips! These days are great for taking a much needed break from the parks and truly just enjoying everything Disney has to offer!
Here is my top 5 list of free/cheap things to do on your break day!
1. The resort pools!
I don’t know about your kids but mine always beg for crazy amounts of pool time on any vacation. Even at Disney! Take advantage of your down time by relaxing at one of your resort’s pools! Many of them offer splash areas for littles, zero entry, and even some pretty awesome water slides!
2. Disney Springs
Disney Springs has so much to offer everyone - from shopping (or window shopping) to grabbing a bite to eat. If you are feeling adventurous while there, take a ride in the Aerophile or one of the Vintage Amphicar Tours! Feel like catching a show? Disney Springs offers several live entertainment options for you including Drawn to Life (presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney).
3. Take a ride on the Monorail, the Skyliner, or one of the Friendship Boats!
First of all, let me just say that taking the Disney transportation is FREE! So why not take advantage of that and enjoy a relaxing ride?! Not only are they fun but they are a great way to be able to visit other on-site resorts!
4. Play Mini golf!
Disney offers 2 mini golf courses: Fantasia Gardens (near Hollywood Studios) and Winter Summerland (near Blizzard Beach Water Park). Bonus: all on-site guests receive a FREE 1 day ticket during your stay per guest on your reservation!
5. Resort activities!
Take advantage of your onsite resort stay by checking out all of the different daily activities they have to offer! Some do require a small fee like the tie-dye activities BUT that is a special and unique souvenir to take home! (wink emoji). One of my favorite activities that most onsite resorts offer is the Movie Under the Stars! They will bring out giant inflatable screens and show some of your favorite Disney movies on select evenings. Most resorts also offer other fun activities like scavenger hunts, dance parties, and even trivia!
Honestly, there are so many other great non-park day activities that I haven’t even mentioned! Be sure to check out everything your resort has to offer or reach out to your Smart Moms Travel Agent for other great suggestions before your next trip!

Kayla
