Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 32

I recently went to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. This event is in its 32nd year of frightening guests! This year the event runs from September 1, 2023 through November 4! They have more nights than they have ever had before! The event takes place from 6:30 pm until 2:00 am. They have 10 houses and 5 scare zones located throughout the Universal Studios park. The most popular houses were Stranger Things and The Last of Us. They also have several attractions, specialty food, and drink booths open for your enjoyment as well. Be sure to catch the Nightmare Fuel Revenge Dream show, as it amazing but for a mature audience.

Each year they have a Master of Ceremonies, this year it was Dr. Oddfellow! He had his own house called Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Organs and a scare zone called Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horrors with a stage show, where he came out and introduced himself to the crowd. He may or may not take your soul with the promise of immortality! He was not terribly spooky, but definitely creepy. He was very entertaining and attracted a crowd immediately.

The 10 haunted houses are:

A. Bloodmoon Dark Offerings

B. The Exorcist

C. Stranger Things

D. Dueling Dragons – Choose Thy Fate (It has a Fire and Ice, so you choose which)

E. Yeti: Campground Kills

F. Chucky

G. Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Origins

H. The Darkest Deal

I. The Last of Us

J. Monsters Unmasked

The 5 scare zones are:

K. Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horrors

L. Vamp ‘69: Summer of Blood

M. Shipyard 32: Horrors Unhinged

N. Jungle of Doom: Expedition Horror

O. Dark Zodiac

The lines can get incredibly long at this event, so going multiple days is highly recommended. They offer varying passes that allow you to come to multiple events called the Rush of Fear Pass. There are a few different ones depending on how many times you plan to go. If you only plan to go one night, I would highly recommend purchasing the Express Pass for the HHN night you plan on attending. They can be very pricey, but definitely worth it! If you already have a park ticket or an annual pass that allows you to come in that day, you can come into a holding area called Stay and Scream, at 4 pm. The Stranger Things house opens at 5:15 pm for those in this area, which was at a 200 minute wait at 5:45pm last Saturday. All houses open before the gates reopen at 6:30 pm to general HHN ticket holders. You can purchase the Stay and Scream for an additional $40 depending on the night. The best way to see everything is the RIP Tour! Again pricey, but you have a guide that will walk you to the front of all the lines at all the houses and you have food and drink included! I did the Rush of Fear basic pass that helped me over 2 nights to be able to experience everything! I did go to the Stay & Scream area each day.

My favorite houses were Stranger Things because I love it, but not as scary as some of the other houses, The Darkest Deal and The Last of Us. The Darkest Deal is where a struggling musician makes a deal, his soul for his fame! This one had several jump scares. The Last of Us was so dark that you don’t know where you are and there are a ton of jump scares, which I love! All the scare zones were great as well! They changed up the Nightmare Fuel Show, so if you have seen it before, go again because this year it is bigger and better!! There was also a rare special dance performance by the Megan’s that we got to see. There is not a set time or location where they come out, but we saw them by a blue light focused only on the street.

Overall, I had a really great time! The weather was brutally hot, so make sure to plan accordingly. I would highly recommend attending this year’s event. It certainly did not disappoint, and they did a great job with the crowd control this year. I cannot wait to see what to see what they scare up for next year! So enter if you dare, for Halloween Horror Nights is definitely worth the scares! Are you brave enough?
