Utopia

Hello Friends!

My husband and I went on Royal Caribbean's Utopia for 4 nights to celebrate our anniversary. We had so much fun and didn't want to leave the ship on debarkation day! Our adventure started very early as we drove to Cape Canaveral. We couldn’t believe how massive and absolutely beautiful the ship was.  We got there prior to our boarding time by about 30 minutes and much to our delight and surprise we were able to board early!! Our room wasn't ready, but we got up to the top of the ship just in time to see a rocket launch! We were beyond excited, and this cruise was off to a great start!  We went to the Pesky Parrot for a drink and to the mustard station.  Next, we headed to the buffet, Windjammer Café. It was super busy, guess everyone else had the same idea.  We then headed to our cabin with a balcony to check it out, change into our swimsuits and head back out to the pool for the Sail Away Party.  We did get the drink package prior to arrival, and it saved us a significant amount.  You can buy once on board, but the price is much higher than if you bought before arrival. We did anytime dining in the main dining room each night, instead of a set dinner time.  The menu changed each night and each dish we had was phenomenal! There were so many options for dining to choose from, some are an additional cost, but we skipped those this trip.

Day 2, we arrived in Nassau.  Since we have been there before, we decided to stay on board the ship and check it out.  It is massive and has so much to do! You need a week or longer to accomplish it all.  We hung out at the pool, rode waterslides, played miniature golf, rode the Ultimate Abyss (a 259-foot dry slide), and ate so much food!! We had breakfast at Windjammer Café, lunch at El Loco Fresh and grabbed snacks at Park Café.  We tried to get on the Royal Railway, but couldn’t get in.  It is dinner with a live show in an actual train car, so sad we didn’t get to try it but we booked very last minute.

Day 3, we were at sea and did the same thing as the day before! Relax, explore, eat and drink!  We played some trivia, bingo and went to the casino.  I usually am not a slots player, I like Blackjack…but I won some money on slot machines, which I eventually lost most of but had fun playing!  We went to see the comedy show after dinner and it was hilarious!

Day 4, our last day was to Perfect Day at Coco Cay.  The weather was not ideal, but we ended up enjoying the island despite the rough seas and occasional showers.  They have a water park on the island that has 14 slides, but is an additional cost, so we skipped that this time. We had lunch on the island with burgers, sandwiches, salad, fries and the drink

package does work there.  They do have an adult only area for an additional cost called Hideaway Beach.  We decided to skip that this time too.  We just explored, relaxed on the beach and at the swim up pool bar.  Once back on board we got ready for our last night in the main dining hall and went to see the Aqua 80 Too! It is a spectacular show in and on water with high diving and tight rope walking high above the audience.  I am so glad we got to see this show! Simply AMAZING!

Day 5, we had to say goodbye to our ship, but we will carry the memories with us forever.  We definitely will sail on Utopia again! Next time, I want to get into the Royal Railway for dinner, it is an additional cost but want to experience it once. I’ve been on several cruises, but Utopia was my absolute favorite to date!

Let us know what you think and if Utopia is a ship you could see yourself on!

Your Bibbidi Bobbidi Bestie,

Jamie
