Why A Disney Cruise is perfect for Adults Only Trips, too!

I recently had the pleasure of boarding the Disney Wish cruise ship for a 3 night Bahamas Cruise this past month. Not only was it my first ever Disney Cruise, but it was also a “girls trip” where I left my hubby and little boys at home! To say I came home a Disney Cruise “believer” would be an understatement and I’m now convinced this is what my hubby and I will be doing to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in 2025! Call me crazy, but Disney Cruise Line is not just for families! Let’s take a deep dive into all the amazing things Disney Cruise Line has to offer for adults….

The Lounges:

We all know that Disney is known to be all about the theming, but I can’t even begin to describe the incredible themed lounges aboard the Disney Wish! And they don’t just stop at incredible decor, the drinks available in each lounge will transport you straight into the movies! Our first stop, The Rose lounge with it’s sophisticated elegance and beauty based on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. This adults only Lounge is breathtaking, and you must order “The Rose” cocktail, it is truly a theatrical show all in itself! If elegance and sophistication isn’t your thing, maybe head on over to Hyperspace Lounge for a truly out of this world Star Wars experience! From dry ice to airy smoke bubbles and Baby Yoda garnishes, the drinks in this lounge can’t be beat! And let’s not forget about the eye-catching Bayou Lounge, where you can enjoy southern drinks along with Beignets! While alcoholic beverages are one of the few things not included in your cruise pricing, these lounges truly make the experiences and beverages worth every penny!

Quiet Cove and Rainforest Room:

Now if relaxation is more what you are looking for, then look no further than Quiet Cove, the adults only pool deck on board the Disney Wish. From amazing Plush loungers and seating to the most incredible infinity pool with built in loungers on the Aft of the ship. This area is truly where dreams are made for! And the best part, it was not nearly as crowded as I would have expected it to be! Just look at this view!! And you can access this area at no extra charge and they are sure to keep this area free from the kids!

Now if you want to bring your relaxation to a whole other level and maybe you want even more privacy, I highly suggest the unlimited spa pass to the Rainforest Room for the length of your trip. For a cost equivalent to a 1 hour massage, you have unlimited access to the incredible Rainforest room and outdoor space with swing loungers, hot tubs, ice room, saunas, heated chairs and more! We spent the bulk of our time in this area and it was worth every penny of the $179 for the entire length of the cruise! And they only sell a limited number of passes, so it’s never too crowded! Not to mention you get access to the amazing rain showers inside the spa! Since there were 4 of us ladies sleeping per cabin, many of us opted to come down and shower for the evening in the spa! If you ask me, this was the best money I spent all trip!

Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay:

And finally, if you are lucky enough to have one of your ports of call be Disney’s private island of Castaway Cay, they have a complete “adults only” section of the island called Serenity Bay! While the whole island is absolutely beautiful with plenty of beaches, adventures and things to see and do, Serenity Bay is a must visit area! While this area is the furthest from the ships docking area, there are plenty of trams that will drive you from the port over to Serenity Bay!

We admittedly did not plan to spend a ton of time on this portion of the island but we found some amazing benefits to wandering over there. For starters all guests get a free BBQ style lunch on the island. There is the main area location by the family beaches which can get super crowded with really long lines during peak lunch hours. But when we walked up to the Serenity Bay location at Noon, there was literally no line and plenty of food options! While we heard from others how long they waited at the main location later that evening! Serenity Bay is on the “open ocean” side of the island with super shallow, picturesque clear water that you can lounge in for hours! You can even get a massage in a cabana, oceanside over in Serenity Bay!

Overall, Disney has absolutely sold me on their Disney Cruise Line fleet and I can’t wait to take both my whole family and just my husband back for more sailings soon!

And did you know, before you leave every sailing that you can book a “placeholder” booking for just $250 and that will give you a 10% discount on your next cruise, as long as you sail within 2 years?!? So you bet I booked that bounceback!

If the idea of a Disney Cruise or vacation sounds overwhelming to you, don’t forget, one of your amazing Team Fairy Godmothers would be happy to help you plan that next Disney adventure completely free! Let us guide you through the ins and outs of Disney Cruising so you don’t miss a single thing on your next sailing adventure!
